If you find yourself loitering by the
Church of Spilled Blood, follow the faint sounds of jazz to this café-cum-bar.
The jazz/blues music that plays unobtrusively from the speakers is familiar and
good quality and if you’re lucky, you’ll arrive when there’s a live set on the
little stage. The funky lighting and black-and-white photos of music legends
make for a great atmosphere and you can choose to order at the bar or wait for
table service. Beer will set you back around R150 but they do a delicious White
Russian (R350) and large pots of tea (R150) – the vibrant pink fruit tea is
especially good.
